Scanship wins first in world sludge treatment contracts for sea based closed cage fish farms

June 3rd, 2018

Scanship Holding ASA, through its subsidiary Scanship AS, has been awarded contracts by the Norwegian company AkvaFuture AS who operates sustainable and environmentally-friendly fish farms at three locations in Vevelstad and Brønnøy municipalities. AkvaFuture AS is farming fish with trademark “EcoSalmon”.

Scanship will deliver systems to process and dry the sludge from sea based closed cage fish farms.

“This is really a breakthrough for Scanship. These systems are first in world to operate on sea based closed cage fish farms. All residues from the fish farms will be collected and recovered efficiently in a circular economy setup. We are thrilled to work with AkvaFuture on these projects and inspired by their commitment for sustainable fish farming and cleaner oceans”, says CEO Henrik Badin in a statement.
