Scanship enters into Contracts for Scanship Total Clean Ship Systems on Hurtigruten’s luxury polar expedition cruise vessels MS Roald Amundsen and MS Fridtjof Nansen

Scanship has entered into a contract with Kleven Shipyard in Norway to supply Scanship’s Total Clean Ship Systems for Hurtigruten’s two new luxury polar expedition cruise vessels.The Scanship contracts includes delivery of systems for food waste processing, garbage handling and advanced wastewater purification. The advanced wastewater systems to be installed, processing all black water and grey water from accommodation, laundry, galley and foodwaste, will be designed according to the new standard in the Baltic Sea, (HELCOM) with nutrient removal.

“Hurtigruten has decided to go for the ultimate enviromentally friendly systems on their new ships. The choice of Scanship will fit perfect into Hurtigrutens overall sustainabillity target for these vessels“, CEO Henrik Badin says. “We are proud to be a part of Hurtigrutens initiatives for cleaner oceans“, he adds.
